Default Arctic Cat Clutch

I have an 2002 500 Auto FIS. I recently began to hear what sounds like a scraping noise from the clutch cover. Removing the cover, I found quite a bit of belt shavings and what appears to be a film of oil. I also noted wear marks on the outside of the belt. Anyone have any suggestions?

Imo...If you see big marks on the belt-replace it(better safe than sorry). The belt gets old and the rubber wears out. Does the belt have frayed edges? It could be bearings on the belt drive. Since you said there is oil it leads me to believe maybe a gasket or seal leaked on the belt. Good Luck.
