Default 08 700 EFI Water splashing stalls bike

2008 700 EFI with 9200 miles on bike.....
Issue has been there since new at 0 miles......
I can wade deep water with no issues......
But I cannot ride through a series of 2 to 3 inch puddles without the bike backfiring and quitting........
Last Fall prior to snow fall dealer replaced coil and thought that might be trouble......of course with winter comes no puddles to test it in.........Just this morning it is raining and I am out on trail and bingo.......bike backfired and was difficult to restart.......
Any of you experience this and have an idea of a fix......
