Questions installing heated grips on 650 v2

Hi all, I got a pair of aftermarket heated grips for my quad for Christmas. I have a 2006 650 v2. I am not sure where I should run the positive wire to make the grips shut off with the key. I obviously could run to the battery directly, but I know that I would forget to turn off the heat and have a dead battery. I use the quad for plowing with a winch. The instructions say to run to the ignition switch, but I took the switch off the panel, and it appears to be a sealed switch. Any suggestions would really help, and I appreciate them.
