Default Arctic Cat oil

I was just reading somewhere on some dealers website where they are saying to use just "Arctic Cat" oil . I think they are just trying to make money. Should we use it or would Valvoline 10W-40 will work perfectly which we use in our Jeep ?

Hello,
Most places will say that. I have a couple of Harley Davidsons (Full Dresser and Fatboy)and they state that I should only use their oil and spark plugs. I have drag raced ameturely as well as motocross since 1972 and have had over 45 motorcycles. I do all my own work. Valvoline has always proven to be a great oil. I am partial to the straight weight 40 in everything I have. I also have an ATTEX 6 wheel amphibious and a 2 wheel drive Rokon motorcycle and I use the Valvoline. Castrol has failed me as well as Chevron and a few others. The test of any product is under high performance conditions. I have also found that NGK and Autolite spark plugs are probably some of the best. Yes, even in bikes, boats, and ATVs. Champions have always performed and lasted poorly.
When I drag raced I had a Kawasaki 1000LTD that had a big bore kit, a Russ Collins Engineering turbocharger, and many other modifications. Russ Collins strongly recommended the Valvoline 60 weight racing. I never had any lubrication problems.
Anyway, most all companies will promote their product. The downfall is that if you should have a failure they will attribute it to the non-use of their product.
Sorry to go on. I hope this information helps.
Good luck.
