im uneducated with atv part names :)

my moms friend gave us a broken 98 Polaris scrambler 400 with 2 broken axles, warn tires, and best of all it wont start

so we looked at the manual we bought cleaned the alternator and replaced the spark plug wire then the guy who gave us the ATV said we need to replace the "chip board" which i have no idea what it is but i think he ment the panel on the front which has prongs that wires go into connecting the parts but to buy the part i assume id need the name

and any suggestions of were i should buy it would help
