Throttel lock(Cruise Control) Does your thumb hurt?

We are high school students working on a project related to jet ski and atv throttels. The person we got this problem from said that he had a problem with his thumb cramping up from the throttle control. We were wondering if any of you have this same problem. A yes or no answer would be fine. Thank you
