2004 Yamaha Bruin 350
I am new to this forum so , I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have worked on ATV's, motorcycles and PWC's for years. I have one I am working on now that has me stumped.
It started out not wanting to idle. So, I removed the carburetor, disassembled it and soaked it in carburetor cleaner. I cleaned it all up, blew compressed air through all the passages and jets. Everything was spotless before I put it all back together.
Now, it will start first try and idles great. But, as soon as you hit the throttle it stalls. I have adjusted the mixture screw with not much of a change. By adjusting the mixture screw was able to get it so that I could get it to run only by hitting the throttle wide open and it would hesitate for a second and then take off. But if you ease into the throttle it will stall.
I have checked for an air leak. None found. I replaced the spark plug. I drained the fuel tank and replaced with fresh fuel. I have checked the valve clearance and it is good. The air filter is clean. The carburetor slide is operating properly. The float level is set correctly. I have also installed a new fully charged battery.
So, if anyone has run into this before or has any idea what the problem may be, please let me know.
Thank you.
