Default Best ATV for flooded rice fields

I am considering getting a new atv primarily to use while I am duck hunting. I have to go through flooded rice and bean fields with it at times. I would like to hear some suggestions about whether I should use a solid axle or will independent rear suspension be strong enough. I also would like recomendations on brands. I am thinking of an engine around 400 to 500 cc's. I would appreciate any and all comments.

yamaha 550.. reliable machines. marine grade wire connectors, high air intakes, sealed rear brake system, lockable front diff, IRS, constant tension on drive belt... its like yamaha knew people just might run these things through some water at some point. my opinion isnt bias, i own an arctic cat.. if i could have afforded the yamaha griz 700 i would have went that way for sure. the cat has been a great machine though best bang for buck IMO, no regrets there either. IRS over solid axle any day except on a sport quad. smoother ride, more ground clearence. i cant see durability being an issue.
good luck.
