For a beginner I think Polaris makes the best bang for your buck quads, Can-Am has super nice machines and performance wise not much will touch them (The new scramblers gotta be close though). You pay out the ass for a Can Am and for an entry level guy I would not recommend it if your not used to it. Buy another machine if you have the time and enjoy it then make your next machine a big bad ass Can Am. As for the rest Yamaha and Honda sacrifice performance and run designs far longer with little to no changes the bugs get worked out which helps with reliability but at a cost. As far as performance goes if your on a Honda utility quad expect to be in the back of the pack but you will start in the back and more importantly end in the back every time a claim not many can make.
