Default 92 honda 250x rebuild

I just rebuilt my 250 and it lacks the power that it should have. It starts and runs good it just doenst have any power at all. it seems like it takes to long to rev up when i give it gas. Any ideas?

Check your cam timing and make sure you have it in time, you might be off a tooth.

i recently rebuilt a 91 250x and had the same problem come to find out it was a mixture of 3 things the first thing i noticed was the valves needed adjusted so i adjusted them intake: 5mm exhaust: 4mm
it helped a little so then i figured well ill clean the carb and that helped more but it was still lacking the power it needed so the next thing i did was readjust the timing and come to find out i was off a tooth and now it runs unbelieveably stronger that it did stock..
my mods include:
STD bore 12:1 high compression piston
stage 1 hotcam for 300ex
barnette dirt digger kevlar clutch
not much but made a big power increase
