Default help with brute force 650

Ive got a buddy who has a brute force, he told be that there is a knocking in the engine. It still starts and runs fine. He said it started after the rad hose blew off. He'll be bringing it over within the next couple weeks, what should i look for, check, so on?

Could be the rod bearing or wrist pin that hold the rod to the piston if its a knock coming from the bottom side. If its a ticking sound it could be the valves chattering or a valve is hitting the piston. could be a slacky timing chain.
