Default Kazuma meercat timing

I bought a meercat for my kid and it would not start so I went and ordered a cylinder kit, coil, and cdi box. What I don't know is which mark to use when setting my timing. There are 4 marks on the flywheel. I am assuming the one marked T is top dead center and that is the one I should line up whith the cam gear. If it's not could someone let me know?

Hello,
Though one should set the cam according to the marks the best way to identify the marks is to find TDC and set the cam by viewing the cam lobes for the exhaust and intake and making sure that they when the piston is at TDC that exactly between the lobes that they are straight up or straight up according to the engine's head. The cam should be exactly between lobes when the piston is at TDC. You can then identify the correct mark on your flywheel.
On the timing there are usually two ways to set it. One is called static timing which is done by setting it (check for spark with the plug out) when the engine is towards TDC and turning the motor by hand. The correct timing should indicate a spark when the piston is very close to TDC (almost on top of it). You can then identify the correct mark on your flywheel.
The next is set by a timing light once you've identified the correct mark according to the above. Just adjust it exactly according to the mark at idle.
On your flywheel you may also have the TOTAL advance mark which indicates what your timing is at above 1500 RPM. This is the mark you use for your top end power. You can always change your timing for better power by advancing your timing. The best way to do this is by accelerating and advancing your timing little by little. Only advance until it doesn't gain any more power or it starts to "ping".
Good luck.
