Default 2007 Hawkeye

Hello all, a newbe here.

I just bought two ATV's; a 2007 Polaris Hawkeye for my wife, and a 2003 Yamaha 660 Raptor for myself.

My first question...........

Why would Polaris specify 0W50 oil for this thing.

Seems like they want you to go and buy their $7/litre oil.

Does anyone out there have one of these, and what are you using?

I'm probably going to go with 20w50 Pennz or something that is readilly available.

Thoughts?
Thanks.
