Default 06 sportsman 800 shifter stuck in reverse

My 800 sportsman 06 has had problems shifting gears. It was getting harder each time. Now it will not come out of reverse. I am getting a stiff neck ridding the thing backwards in the bush tails. Anyone know of a good mirror or else the solution to fixing my shift problem

Default Shiftage...

Here is the Gear Selector diagram....

Check all the parts for wear, look for loose bolts. Sometimes the Linkage rod(#6) ends wears out. Or get out of adjustment. Good luck.

Thanks for help guys. Problem turned out to be ice in the tranny. I took the thing to the dealer in the spring to have a boot changed out , oil change and all other fluids checked and greased. They never did grease it. I found a pint of pure water in the tranny. How could all the oil leak out and refill with pure water in 6 months and than the water stay in. There were no leaks under the quad when parked and all drain plugs tight. Bought new last year so not many miles on it. Never deal with that bunch again. What burns me is I was always looking at the manual brake resoviror thinking it was the oil for the tranny.

That's crazy. Maybe the water came in the tranny breather tube.
Most of the time the crankcase seal leaks and fills the crank with fuel.
why is the oil grey...lol
