Hello i bought a 02 500ho last year from a private seller. The only way we could start the thing is by pull starting it which i have no problems doing it starts on 2nd pull 3 pulls in the winter time so it really doesnt bother me. I just purchased a battery for the thing thinking it was just a dead battery. installed new battery and it still wont start, the head lamps or anything will not come on at all. i can jump the poss wire at the solenoid taking the solenoid out of the picture and still got no power anywere. i chased most of the wiring on it dont really see anything chafed or anything along that line. i was wondering were the fuses are for this system i can not locate them. It almost seams like it has to be something like that were im losing all my power. If anyone could help me it would be great. if i could get my hands on a wiring diagram that would help also thanks

No i have not checked the fuses yet i dont know were they are. I was wondering in my first post were can i locate them. thanks for the help

I too have 02 sportsman that had elec issues, turned out to be a seized starter. if you go to the polaris industries web site,find parts/manuals page, you will find an owners manual supplement-pn9916742 which contains a wiring diagram.this is printable as well. hope this helps....

Hey thanks for the help guys. I traced some wires and found a bad wire that had corrosion and broke threw. i now got power when i turn the key and the solenoid by the battery now clicks. i have power going down to the starter but it does not turn over. i got power now also to all the head lamps and speedo. im assuming i got a bad starter but is this starter grounded threw the case? i will check out that web site and see if i can find the wiring diagrams for the starting circuit. if anyone has them and can post it here that would help also or email them to me to scopley2@yahoo.com that would work also. thanks again for the help
