Default Newbie: 1985 LT250R Help

Hi guys,
I'm brand new to this site, and I need help with my quad.

I just got a 1985 LT250R about two weeks ago, and it's had a problem starting since I got it.

It runs great, but kick starting it is ridiculously difficult. We've been push starting it when we really want to ride.

My friend and I have tried troubleshooting using the manual and just through our knowledge.

Here's what we've done so far:
Cleaned out the carburetor, cleaned the gas tank/put fuel filter on, new spark plug, bought a brand new ignition coil, cleaned out the entire exhaust system, checked the cylinder and cylinder head(both looked great), and we got a new spark plug boot.

We're still having issues, and we are running out of ideas. We're going to rebuild the carb later this week.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Default Ltr....

Does your LTR250R have a power valve setup. If it does it could be out of alignment. Does it seem to have allot of compression?
