Default 97 king quad 300 rollover fixable?

Hi everyone,

Purchased a used rollover 97 kingquad 300, got it running with much help from this forum thank you. It makes a signifigant clunking noise rolling in neutral enginge off, which appears to be coming from the rear. As the inner cv boot turns the clunk occurs every 90 degrees it rotates. This occurs in superlowrange 2wd.

The range selector knob is out of position from the rollover and is all the way forward which does effectively engage super low but with clunking in N-5th. if the range knob is moved the rear locks up or does not engage the 5 forward gears.

Does anyone know if this is the end for a King Quad or can it be fixed?

Thank you for your time and consideration

Try to remove the shifting mechanism and re-straighten everything.... seems like it is dragging...

The range selector knob is possibly pushing on the linkage witch pushes on the gears....It could be in-between gears. One of the linkages could be bent...making it push more= pull more.....
