Default 1987 Suzuki LT300E \ PLEASE HELP!!

I just got this ATV, and was told the starter was bad on it. But I found out the starter works.. but when I ripped the starter out, and looked in the hole.. There is nothing in there. What does the Starter go into to crank her up.. The atv goes through all the gears and cranks up doing the pullstart..

Please help!

The end of the starter should be geared. That shaft goes next to another gear that then in turns the starter clutch set (a gear with a clutch that is attached to the flywheel). This is of course if it is anything like my 89 LT4WD.

Ok, so this would be missing a starter clutch?

Here is some pictures where I took the starter out and didn't see any gears or anything.

Default Doesn't seem like the starter clutch is missing.

It seems as if there is a gear missing as there should be one that the starter shaft spins. I hate to say this, but without a clymer manual, I can't tell you which one. It seems like what is missing is item 1 on the attached photo. Item 1 would be spun by the starter motor, which then in turn, turns the starter clutch set. But again without a repair manual for it, it is hard to be certian.
