Default 88 LTF 250 fuel pump

Hi there

just got this beauty and did a full carb cleaning over the weekend
it only starts/runs for a few seconds when I suck on the fuel line to get some fuel in the carb
checked the fuel lines and the fuel valve and everything seems ok
could it be the fuel pump? how do I check if it is working properly?
love to get this beauty out asap and really appreciate any advice
or suggestions

Thank you very much

I put a straight line fuel filter on mine from a lawn mower. Then I siphoned to get the fuel flowing it runs fine but it loses its siphon after on a hill a certain way. I do believe they sell a rebuild kit for this pump.

Hi deatley 30

thanks for the tip,so you took the pump out alltogether and just put the staight line fuel filter in its place?
Is there any way when I take the pump apart to tell if it's broken or not?
Thanks again

Nico
