Hello my name is rob, so i bought this king qaud for 100 bucks put new fuel in it replaced with all new fuel lines and vaccum lines fresh fuel cleaned the carb new spark plug gap to spec gas fills carborator but not getting fuel to cylinder carb is completely dry besides the bowl of the carb spray starting fluid in the carb or spark plug hole just back fires nothing else can anyone give me any tips or help would be great thank
clean the carb. I know that is a very generic answer, but the bottom line is that you need to take the carb apart and clean up all of the jets.
1995 KQ 300 will have the CV style carb. Look on Youtube for "CV carb cleaning" You'll get a lot of hits from Harley's as they used that same carb.
Pay close attention to the pilot and main jet.
If you want to do a test before you take it apart, put your hand over the mouth of the carb and turn the motor over. After it cranks for a few seconds, look at your hand. Does it have gas on it? If so, the pilot circuit is probably clogged and your sucking fuel through a different hole. If it is dry, then your float is either stuck shut or everything is plugged.
kay so i took it apart and replaced the broken chock cable i am able to get it start run drive just takes for ever to start like the chock dose not work i can only get the quad to start with out chock and just cranking away after awhile dose start and when in natural it start to idal real high soon as you put it in gear has normal ideal i really appreciate the help with these issues
What do you have your pilot screw set at? I think I'd take it in just slightly, maybe a 1/4 turn.
Also, did you check your float height? It is very critical on these carbs. 12.5mm to 13.5mm.
