Big Bear Trouble

I have a 2003 Big Bear and when I ride it I have to have the choke at least halfway on. If I turn it off it will sputter and lose a lot of power. I have drained the gas in the tank and cleaned the lines out. The sparkplug is fine.
Does anyone know what could be causing it to do this?

Its a 2004. I just realized i put 2003 instead of 2004

Carb jets are pluged there is a pilot jet that controls low idle it will need to be cleaned. The gas will varnish this jet shut causing it to run off the slow jet thus running at higher idle. Us a small stiff wire to clean the pilot jet just don't drill it out. Just give the carb a good cleaning and make sure you remove any rubber parts or orings before cleaning. The carb spray will swell the rubber part making them not usable. Best way to aviod this problem is to shut fuel off and let it idle out the fuel in the carb or drain carb for storage.
