My father just drained the oil for his 1989 Yamaha Moto-4 350cc ATV and was curious if it would be safe to replace it with synthetic oil. Any help would be appreciated.

What ever oil you use, make sure it's safe for wet clutch. So it should have a JACO rating. I'm not sure if there are any synthedic oils like that. Don't used any oil not rated for wet clutch.
