Default 96 kodiak gas problem

I have a 96 Kodiak 400 and recently the internal parts of the fuel gauge all broke off into the tank. When I would accelerate, the gas would cut out and try to stall. At idle in neutral, it does fine, so I figured something was blocking the fuel line. I pulled the tank and got everything out of it, installed a new gauge, put it all back together, and it still does the same thing. I assume it is related since I haven't had any problems prior to the gauge breaking, so I pulled it all again and also pulled the carb. I don't see anything obvious, and am hesitant to tear apart the carb just yet. Does anyone have any ideas on what else the problem could be before I unnecessarily tear apart the carb? Thanks, it is greatly appreciated!
