Default Warrior wiring issues

I am looking into buying a 01 Warrior. It will not start. The guy said he had it to the dealer and they told him that the wiring harness needs replaced because the reverse switch will not disengage. If I cut the wires running to the reverse switch will the bike start? Or is there anyway of bypassing the switch? I would really like to hear the bike run before I purchase it.
