Proper way to paint rims?

My 06 kodiak rims are starting to rust a little.

I have used a dremel tool to remove the rust and sandpapered the rims to smooth out the grinding marks and rough up the rims so that the paint will adhere better.

I will not be removing the tires from the rims.

What would be the best paint to use?

Best way to apply the paint? (spray can or paint brush?).
