odometer problems 2006 yamaha rhino

The problem I am having is the odometer is all over the place instead of showing the correct speed and when this happens the reverse light starts blinking. It does not do it all of the time but it does to it off and on ,on every ride. Any ideas? Thanks Jake

Is it a digital or analog readout?

Has to be a loose connection on the speedo itself or on the speed sensor.
