Default yamaha raptor 250

Hi guys, im new to this forum so if there is any rules i dont follow let me know =)

My father rides a brand new honda rincon and he wants a great quad for all the family. Im 5'10 145 lbs and he might get us a brand new se raptor 250 and i wanted to know if its a good machine for its price (we all know yamaha is reliable so). I never rode a manual/clutch atv so if anyone could explain me how it works and things i shouldnt do (so i dont crash it, like my bro did with my father's honda 350) ^^

Take it easy and start on a wide open area. dont let out on the clutch to fast and pull in the clutch when your stopping and have fun!
