1999 Suzuki king quad LT F300F
-I also checked fuel pump (diaphragm looks intact) - I disconnected from gas tank side and fuel goes through it... but when I disconnect it from the OTHER side (going to carb), no gas comes out of this side - this may be related to a vacuum - I don't know - but I thought that if the engine is turning over the fuel pump would suck gas from tank, through fuel pump to other side of fuel pump to engine. I'm a beginner if you can't tell.
-last issue - sorry writing so much - battery is questionable (but it's a year old) - replaced solenoid in front of machine - it'll turn over pretty good almost all the time with new solenoid - BUT THIS IS ONLY when I have a battery charger hooked up to the battery. without the charger, I can try to start it and it'll eventually start clicking again.
1999 King Quad LTF300F - I'd written a while back - I inherited this beast. Was running, now it 's not.
I replaced spark plug and petcock - petcock was leaking - bunch of rusty-colored gas in bottom of tank and a piece of an old petcock (that was fun trying to get out with the tank still on the machine) - I cleaned this out nicely.
-I can pour gas on filter and it'll turn over and run for 3-4 seconds
-I can pour gas directly into the carb and the same thing
** when I disconnect the side of the petcock tubing that goes into carb (Mikuni model X) and start it, no gas goes through this line - is petcock bad? I can turn the petcock to all three settings and start it and still nothing comes from tank through petcock line to carb. This tubing is not blocked - I can blow through it with ease.
- will continue re: fuel pump status
-Thank you in advance for any advice.
