Suzuki Mid-90's Quadrunner 250 2WD Carb question

Hey all,

I have a Suzuki Quadrunner 250 2wd, I believe it's a 94 model according to it's serial number. We've been having some problems with it idling correctly, and we've cleaned it, several times pretty thoroughly, etc. We're at a point where we think the issue may be with the carb body itself, so we decided we would just go ahead and try a new one.

My question is this: a brand new carb appears to be going for about $400 (yikes!). Is the carb on a mid '90's engine going to be compatible with any later years? Or earlier, like the 80's?

Secondly, are there any aftermarket carbs available? I've been googling this and looking on eBay, but can't seem to find anything definite. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!
