Have you done a compression check? Also is it a 2 or 4 stroke?

P.S Welcome to the forums!!
No test on it 4 stroke
i did buy and install a tailpipe and muffler got it off ebay
I seems to run bad and back fires till it is warmed up then it runs great , till it fouls the plug
Did it run ok before the tailpipe? What does the plug look like after its fouled? Wet?dry?
It did run ok but still fouled plug's
dry plug i think?
What I would do next is a compression check and see what thats at.
If it has a ton of hard miles on it you may be putting some rings in it.Does it burn alot of oil?
Not sure about the oil only rode it a few times
1 1/2 hours on it.i was told maybe since the carb was rebuilt the the air screw is set wrong too much fuel
not enuff air fouling out plug.
it doesnt want to stay runing when it is cold and will not hold an idle
Screw your airscrew in all the way then back it out 1 turn and try it after that if you have to adjust do by 1/4 turns. You may have to play with it to get it just right.
I talked to a local small engine guru and he said to Start at 1 1/2 turns out then go in till the idle is as high as possible then bak it out an 1/8 hope this helps.

That is exactly right!!!
Don't give up on it those old honda 3-wheelers can last forever and the motors are practically bullet-proof :)
air screw u mean pilot screw on the bottom of the carb?
Atc 200

It might be the carb. jetting. I know that you have to re-do jetting if you add any power adders. Bigger pipe=Bigger jets=bigger air filter.

Imo...Your main needle jet in your carb. is too small(diam.) or up to high. I'm not sure if 4-stokers have a c-ring clip on the main Needle jet but, if it does you have the c-clip to Low on the Needle jet(Rich). The further up you go the Leaner it runs.

*There's a pin in the cam that locks the spark advancer in place if that's not there the spark advancer wont spin and you'll have no spark take the cdi cover off and see if its spinning...just a thought...
