The rope winch has rope on it and the cable has a metal cable on it

Sorry! maybee weight it does not rust thats all I can think of. My dads quad has a cable winch and its been around since the 87 when my grandfather originally bought the quad. I have never seen rope winches except on a boat winch.

The rope is so much nicer the metal one is a pain in the a__ I am going to buy the rope to replace my cable It is exspensive.
