this is not a atv question its a question a bout my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. when i do oil changes on it i pull the filler cap off and it has that white sludge. Its moisture Im guessing but why? The local auto store told me to change my pcv valve don that no change. It has a 4.7 liter V8. I use 5/30 penzoil. i also change oil every 3000 Nobody else knows and I figured somebody here may know. Thank you in advance for your replies.:dunno:

If nobody answers you here there are tons of jeep forums. Try one of those i am sure that somebody somewhere had (or has) the same problem and would know the remedy to your problem.

no coolant level changes. about 35 miles round trip. its not on the dip stick its under the filler cap. it gets that filmy moist oil in that. never seen it on the stick or when its poring out the oil is not milkey.

I would go with installing a new positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) then running sea-foam in the system to remove the moisture
Instrutions from there website..Sea Foam

When Added to Crankcase (Oil)


Frees sticky lifters and rings
Increases R.P.M.'s vacuum and compression
Cleans dirty parts
Removes moisture
Cleans PCV valve systems

One pint treats 10 quarts of oil (avg. 1 1/2 ounce per quart).
