need help with 1998 Big Bear 350 rear diff bearing

Sorry for the book long post:
Does anybody know where the serial number for the rear diff is on the 1998 big bear 350 4wd? I have ordered the All Balls Racing rear diff seal and bearing kit from Partzilla and it has the wrong bearing. I sent it back and they sent another and it still has the wrong bearing. The bearing in the new kit is about 3/8 inch smaller outside diameter than the one that came out.

I talked to someone at All Balls Racing and he says that it is the right bearing. He thinks that the previous owner replaced the rear diff with one from different model. I don't think so because when I bought it, it was only 5-6years old so I don't think it was. I am trying to get in touch with the guy I bought it from but that was 15 years ago. I found on the Yamaha website what the serial number is for the rear diff but not where the serial number is. I can't see it anywhere, I am going to try to clean it up some more and see if I can find it but any help would be appreciated.
Also the vin for mine comes back a s 1998 big bear, but it has moto-4 on the rear mud flaps. I see on web sites where they reference them differently. So do I have a big bear or a moto-4 or are they the same thing? And to be sure, if the 10th digit of the VIN is a W, its a 1998 right?

Take the bearing dimensions, inner and outer and width, and tell an engineering/bearing supply shop what it's for, and they will be able to match you up a bearing.. if that's the only difference..

that will work for the bearings, but I'm afraid now that the seal will be the wrong size too. I had to send the kit back.
Well if you cant find the right kit, seals can be bought in all different dimensions too.. The same people that sell bearings will be able to match you up a seal to fit.
ok. thanks. I will check into it.
