Hey guys. I’m over here racking my brain trying to figure this out. A few days ago my Atv started sputtering and would only run with the choke out. So I cleaned out the carb and decided to order a rebuild kit. Well the Atv idles perfect, but if I give it much throttle at all it boggs down, spits, sputters, and will backfire and die. I even put all the original carb jets and hardware back in and still the same problem. I’ve tried adjusting the idle screw and pilot/mixture screw and neither helps. Hope someone can help me as I need my Atv. Thanks in advance.
You might want to find the gas filter and clean or change it. Also, drain all the old gas out of tank and lines. I do not care if you put new gas in, or stabiliser, or whatever, drain it out. clean or change the filter and gas lines.
When you say it " spits back" do you mean backfiring into the airbox ? If so, that indicates a lean condition. Start looking for an air leak.
