Hi, another ATV noobie here. I wanna get into quad driving but I'm having trouble buying my first quad. I can't decide if I should buy a new 2020-2022 model or an older one. I get this feeling that the older quads, like Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki, are built better and last longer then newer models. And if buying an old quad, how old is too old? I'm finding some nice 2005-2007 quads around online for good prices, but how much longer would they last?

If maintained properly, older quads can last a long time. But that's the problem. A lot of older
units were considered a tool, especially utility quads. You see them sitting out in the mud and
rain etc. The one I ended up getting had been sitting in a field in the snow for almost 10 years.
But I got it cheap and knew how to repair it. Its doing good now. Newer fuel injected units take
out the mystery of " will it start" and things like that. But just because its new doesn't necessarily mean
you'll be able to find parts. Hope this helps a little.
