Shalom , I am a retired [but not dead] former senior executive after working my way up from a field mechanic for heavy equipment . Bought my first quad , a 94 King Quad 280 4wd for farm work here on the homestead . I fly an ultralite plane and love fast crotch rockets . [they can't give you a ticket if they can't catch you ] I am prepping a 40 acre homestead getting ready for the end times which are to come shortly . [scared yet ] [not me] My farm is over a half mile long with two river crossings and some hills that no quad can climb [so far] . I garden and farm organically and grow my own tobacco . And whatever !

Hi there everyone im new. I couldnt see how to make a new post so I apologize if this is the wrong way :). I just picked up a polaris cyclone 250 x. I was told it was running just a few months ago . The guy told me to pull the carb and give it a good cleaning. So I did it. But it wont start at all. And after a couple pulls gas comes out of the overflow and exhaust. But I also put my finger over the plug and felt nothing. One more thing. On the left side the cover has a crack that he had put tape on it. Doesnt seem to be leaking but would that cause any problems. He said he road it like that. We hope I can find some help here. :)

First time here and I have a quad that is giving me headaches and I am searching for advice. I have a Polaris Sportsman 400HO that runs great...until you turn the lights on. Any advice on where to start looking for the trouble?

I have done that, used meter on light harness, no shorts indicated. It will run with one headlight connected, don't matter which one. That pretty much eliminates short in wiring. I checked stator, no shorts, 50 volts AC at idle, increase with rpm. I believe I have a rectifier problem even though it is putting out 14.56 volts DC. I removed it and done a diode check and the negative side has no reading. Unless something has changed over the years I should be getting readings on both sides. I believe when I turned on headlights the rectifier can't handle it. I also got a 21 volt AC reading at idle, which is telling me the rectifier is not doing its job properly. Its capable of keeping the battery up, but nothing else. What you think?

Hi everyone,
Just stepped in to say 'Hi', as I have recently picked up my 2017 Polaris Sportsman Touring (XP-1000), and even had a chance to enjoy it for some time. Now it's sitting in the garage waiting for its time haha
Cheers!
