I just want to have an ATV for trail riding and general off-roading. I'm not looking for anything super fast. What are some good options?

4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive??? I would recomend a polaris most because they are very reliable. Maybe a Trail Boss or Trail Blazer. I have a '97 Trail Boss 2WD with offroad rear tires and goes excellent through mud/snow/dirt, pretty much anything. Last winter we hauled wood with it every day and rode our trails in deep snow without getting stuck. The only problem with the tires we got were they tore up grass.

i used to have a trail boss as well and it was great for what you're lookin for. even with the 2WD i actually woudl take it through some shallow streams too for fun and it never got stuck.

Yamaha grizzly 550 would be a good choice.
