my Yamaha 350 big bear, 1998 2 wheel drive quad developed some problems in the rear differential. All the bearings were trashed as well as the pinion gear. I have found a 2002 kodiak 400 , 2 wheel drive that is being parted out for $100. Would this rear end or any of its components fit my quad? new bearings $50;and pinion gear will cost @ $180. Any advice would be appreciated.

It doesn't look to me like that diff will swap.. I looked up your model for an entire diff and it says what other models it fits..

It doesn't say it will fit your bike either.

It's possible the diff would fit, but I'd suspect you'll end up haveing to use other parts, like the axle say, or the suspension arm, to make it all work with your bike.
Some yamaha guy might know better though..
