Hello all, I am new to this forum and wanting some help.

The connector from the solenoid isn’t connected to anything, I can see some wires that’s are also not connected to anything either which are black and then there’s another one which is blue and white

the quad will start if you link the solenoid from negative and positive but by just pressing the start switch nothing happening.

any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me mad now

You need a wiring diagram and possibly a new electrical harness. It's almost impossible to diagnose
this from pictures.

Ok, well, trace the power. You should see voltage at the start button. When the button is depressed, you should see voltage at the primary side of the start relay. ( you'll probably have to provide a ground ). If the primary side of the relay gets power, the solenoid should close( you hear the click) and power from the battery is sent to the starter. You can check the starter by providing voltage directly to it.
These things can be confusing but keep checking things
